Q. What does karate (training) mean to you?
A. Karate is not only to train the body and mind through practice but it is a way to unify them. In short, it is Budo Karate.
Q. What does teaching the current and next generation mean to you?
A. Traditional Okinawa karate means “training for life, but not using for life”, namely, karate for peace. In other words, it is a spirit of not fighting with others. I want to teach and pass on this spirit to the present generation. For the next generation, I want them to learn the spirit of challenging their own physical and mental potential and winning over themselves.
Q. Do you have any words of wisdom for our many karate practitioners?
A. Now, various styles in traditional Okinawa karate are cooperating with each other regardless of their differences. This will lead to the development of traditional karate, which I believe will enrich your practice. I wish you all the best in your training.
